Melbourne party band to rock Aurora

ONE of Melbourne’s hottest party bands is promising to rock Aurora Stadium on New Year’s Eve for the annual Countdown celebration. The night will feature Chunky Jam, whose members say they are keen to make it a huge night, teamed with the talents of many other bands.

“I’m bringing to Launceston outstanding musicians and a killer repertoire that will get everybody’s feet moving – that’s what Chunky Jam does best,” front-man Chris Buxton said.

“Chunky Jam faithfully injects its music with the energy of the masters such as Stevie Wonder, the funk of Jamiroquai and the raw rock of Creedence whilst also blending in their own creative flavours to mix, change and spice it up.”

Coyote Special Events director Rick Marton said that he believed this year’s celebration would be by far the biggest ever entertainment offering for New Year’s Eve that Launceston had ever witnessed.

“This year people will be spoiled for choice and the only disappointing factor is that they won’t be able to see it all,” he said.

Makebelieve Circus will entertain the kids from 7pm and other entertainment includes the Emma Fair Band, the St Andrews Caledonian Pipe Band and singer Brett Budgeon.

The crowd favourite fireworks will once again return with two shows at 9.15pm and midnight.
