NEW Norfolk pacing trainer Paul Hill has been disqualified for four months following an elevated TC02 reading returned by his horse Great Saint. Great Saint was swabbed before his unplaced run in the City of Devonport Quality on December 16.
Hill appeared before a stewards inquiry in Launceston yesterday and pleaded guilty for failing to present Great Saint drug-free.
Hill has 11 horses in work at his New Norfolk stables and has been given 48 hours to make alternative arrangements for them. The trainer has indicated that he will appeal against the severity of the penalty.
