BRISBANE – Debutante My Joliene brought back memories of her smart grand-dam Come On Eileen when she scored a resounding win in the Riccarton Maiden Handicap at Eagle Farm yesterday. Trained by Harold Wilson on the Gold Coast, the three-year- old filly started at $31 and finished powerfully in the straight to defeat hotpot Master Hugh ($1.90) by 134 lengths.
Femme Lien ($5) battled on well for third, albeit a widening three lengths from the runner- up.
Come On Eileen won the 1987 Listed Golden Nugget Stakes at the Gold Coast. She finished her racing career in 1993 with six wins from just 19 starts.
