Carols as popular as ever

Launceston’s City Park comes alive for Carols By Candlelight last night. Picture: GEOFF ROBSONCAROLS By Candlelight, in Launceston’s City Park, once again proved popular last night with a bumper 10,000-plus crowd.

Families ignored the threat of rain to join veteran singing star Barry Crocker and a host of local talent in singing traditional Christmas carols under the stars. Riverside Lions Club organising committee chairman Robert Mantach was delighted with the turnout.

“The weather we had today has certainly brought the crowd out and I’m sure Barry Crocker has helped as well.”
