THE best way to see in this New Year is with the thousands of people expected at the biggest party in town, Countdown 2008. Coyote Special Events director Rick Marton says the event, to be held at Aurora Stadium, will be an enjoyable night for everyone and with so much happening on the grounds, an information booth will be operating from 6pm.
Two stages will be set up for the entertainment including acts such as the the Makebelieve Circus for the kids, singer Brett Budgeon, The Emma Fair band, the Caledonian Pipe Band and the Muttley Crew performing dog group.
The firework shows will feature at 9.15pm and midnight, and in between Melbourne’s hottest cover band Chunky Jam is set to get the event pumping.
There will also be an expanded range of food stalls, including diet choices and international cuisine, and the bar outlets will be serving beer, wine and spirits all night long. “We have taken the time to listen to a lot of feedback and among the great comments were a few that said they’d like more entertainment variety,” Mr Marton said.
“With the format this year, people are going to be spoilt for choice.
“They probably won’t have enough time to see everything.” For more information, visit www.countdowntasmania. com
