Aussie skiing pair take top rankings

SYDNEY – Victorian aerial skiers Jacqui Cooper and Lydia Lassila will start 2008 ranked as the world number one and two after dominating the opening World Cup meet in China.Cooper, 34, won the opening two events of the FIS World Cup season at Lianhua Mountain last weekend to top the standings with a maximum 200 points. The 1999 world champion, who now has with 21 career victories in World Cup competition, patted herself on the back with the second win on Saturday, when the conditions changed markedly between her two jumps.
