PUSHING wheelbarrows through 4km of challenging bush will be a highlight of Poatina’s Australia Day festival. The festival will be run by Fusion Australia at Poatina Village.
Event coordinator Rosa Koster said the event, on January 26, would start at 11am with a street parade and flag-raising ceremony.
The Great Wheelbarrow Race from 2.30pm will see teams of four pushing one of the members around a 4km bush track.
Other events will include a jumping castle, rides, face painting, child craft, karaoke, live music, races and competitions.
She said the day was free and aimed at families.
